The author of the original database was Mrs. Charlette O. Parsons of Mtn. View, CA, USA, shown with her husband, Mr. Robert B. Parsons, both are Native Californians.  Mrs. Parsons has spent over 50 years in its research and compilation, without the aid of computers.  Her works are compiled into 15 volumes of family history that are on file at three major genealogical libraries in the United States  (Sutro Library in San Francisco, CA, LDS Library in Salt Lake City, UT, and The Library of Congress in Washington, DC).  Without her firm foundation, our PFA-WR's Master Database could not have been possible.

The administrator of the Parsons Web Page and the compiler of the Parsons Family Association-Western Region's Master Database is Mr. Gary A. Parsons of San Jose, CA, USA. Gary is a Native Californian and holds a Masters Degree from the School of Social Science, San Jose State University. Gary is married to Mrs. Patricia V. Parsons and has three children, Scott, Cristin, and Melissa.

Three of Gary's ancestral lines were among the early pioneers of California. His paternal 2nd great-grandfather, Theron Parsons, migrated from Onondaga, NY, to National City, CA, in 1868 and was a printer by trade. One of his maternal 2nd great-grandfathers, Charles Dornbach, immigrated to California from Prussia during the Gold Rush of 1849. As a merchant, he was among the founders of the town, Dutch Flat, in Placer Co., CA.  Another of his maternal 3rd great-grandfathers, Joseph De Forest Holmes, immigrated from Hepworth, Yorkshire, England, to California's gold fields as an engineer in one of Sonora's many gold mills.

Gary has been in the publishing business for over 35 years and is currently involved in digital photographic restoration, desktop publishing, and four color digital printing. Gary has been involved in family history research for over 20 years and has been the Associate Historian for the Parsons Family Association - Western Region since 1994.
